Evaluation 7

Evaluation 7

The preliminary exercise was a continuity task involving and editing a character opening a door, crossing the room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character, with whom she/he then exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue. Looking back at the preliminary exercise I feel I have learned how to use aspects of cinematography to make the film look better. For example in the preliminary exercise we had to redo it lots of times due to bad shots and continuity error. We used most of the aspects from the preliminary exercise in the main film we included 180 degree rule during a conversation between two characters and filmed the protagonist walking down a corridor and opening a door and entering a new area. I have gotten better at operating the camera used for filming the main project this is because in the preliminary exercise I barely knew how to use the camera and often ruined shots. The other people in my group have gotten better at editing. In the main project we have used a camera pan to provide a slow buildup to revealing the protagonist and taken lighting into account when we were filming for example we used a dark lighting in an interrogation scene to show that the character being interrogated held secrets or was mysterious.
