The camera focuses on three characters: Stan the protagonist (Played by me), Commander Richards, the bad guy in a suit, and Samantha an innocent looking girl whose significance is not yet revealed in the opening 2 minutes.

The film starts with a shot of Stan looking out across the city from a high window.
This is often seen in superhero movies with the hero shown to be watching over their city. The scene cross –cuts between this and Commander Richards running down a corridor, seemingly towards our protagonist.
As tension builds up there is also a voiceover from Stan explaining about powers. This is done in many sci-fi films to explain certain in-universe points to the audience that may not be obvious from the beginning, an example is the beginning of the film Looper. The tension and pace of the shots increases up to the point where Stan sees Richards take Samantha in his mind. (This is the green/red shot at the top of the post). Then there is a fade to black and a significantly calmer title sequence follows. After this however we see that Stan’s visions of Samantha in trouble are continuing and having more of a physical effect on him. The 2 minute film ends with him opening his eyes after seeing Richards interrogation her. This sudden shot adds suspense and mystery as to what events will follow this occurrence.
